When the Andals invaded Westeros and usurped the pre-existing kingdoms of the First Men, the invaders made a point to dismantle the cultures that were already present in Westeros. Only time will tell if Quaithe's additional prophecy, which states that Daenerys must visit Asshai to learn the "truth" of the world, is also valid. These characters aren't named, but the prediction seems quite accurate given their clear associations with figures like Euron Greyjoy and Tyrion Lannister. However, even more importantly, the shadowbinder tells of six individuals (the Kraken, dark flame, lion, griffin, sun's son, and mummer's dragon) that will play a major role in Daenerys' journey. Quaithe warns Daenerys of the dangers of Qarth, a piece of advice that proves vital during the latter's interactions with the Undying Ones. Although the character's motivations and identity remain a mystery, her ability to foresee future events is undeniable. She is a shadowbinder from the strange, apocalyptic land of Asshai who provides the Queen of Dragons with advice on several occasions. Quaithe of the Shadow, one of the individuals who Daenerys encounters in Qarth, is among the most mysterious figures in the entire series.
